Description

This dusty nebula is located in the constellation of Cassiopeia at a declination of +52 degrees.  I like the shades of brown, gray, and blue dust clouds throughout the image.  In addition to the main object at center, I find the sharp outline of the small “angelfish” dust shape at lower left to be interesting.

Like most of these nebula, little detail is available for it and its distance from us does not seem to be known.

This is the 603rd object in the Lynds Bright Nebulae (LBN) Catalog, which was published by US astronomer Beverly Turner Lynds in 1965. The survey used the 48 inch Palomar telescope and includes all significant bright nebulosity (excluding PN) down to the -33 degree declination limit of the telescope, which amounts to 1025 objects.
